Welcome to the Community Arts Partnership Blog!

The Community Arts Partnership (CAP) program of the College for Creative Studies works closely with schools and other metro Detroit community organizations to provide high-quality art and design education programs for young people. CAP provides art education to more than 3000 students annually. Community involvement and corporate partnerships are crucial components of CAP's successful approach to providing programs that:

  • Foster positive youth development through visual arts programs focused on skill development, self discovery, and self expression
  • Bring education in art, design, and new technologies to youth in underserved inner-city communities
  • Inform young people about career and educational opportunities in the visual arts and design
CAP programs are individually crafted in partnership with schools and community organizations and are solidly based in a strong visual arts curriculum that emphasizes hands-on art making and a cooperative approach to the classroom.
