Redford Library Mural

As you all know, there is a lot more work that goes into the mural making process than one might think. Here's even more proof: approval meetings with the library staff and trips to Home Depot for lumber. All this art making sure keeps us busy!

Redford Library Mural

Big things are happening with the Redford Mural Project. We met with the staff to discuss the location and placement of the mural and have a finalized design all set. It's so exciting to see all of our hard work progress through the many stages of production. Keep up the good work, everybody!

Dr. Conja Wright sits down to make her own creation in one of the DNAW classes.

Thank you to all the parents, like DNAW East mother Ms. Robin Turner, who help make our programs so successful. CAP appreciates you all!

Neighborhood Services Organization Summer Mural Project

The images above are from the Detroit Neighborhood Services Organization's mural that was created in the Summer of 2010. A study of the mural and information regarding the project are hanging outside of the CAP office for all to see.

This mural was created in partnership with the Detroit Neighborhood Services Organization (NSO) Center, dedicated to the service of the surrounding communities' developmentally disabled, in the Summer of 2010. The experience joined together students, staff, and artists to create a finished mural that was not only aesthetically beautiful, but served to change all involved in the most positive of ways. Everyone that participated learned that by listening, caring, and sharing, truly great things can be accomplished. We learned that everyone can be transformed if given the chance and opportunity.
