Projects:
Coloring - * print-outs for mural #1
Coloring - sectional background for mural #1
Composition for mural # 2

Students were issued with large-scale print-outs of mural # 1 and asked to create their own color schemes. At a brief jury, students were given the opportunity to select what in their collective opinions constituted "good" coloring of features of the artwork. The exercise was a good determinant of what the color scheme may look like, and a basis for the "sectional" (trial) paintings next week.

To practice painting techniques towards the final mural, group #1 was supervised by Odette to paint the background for a section of the artwork. The main techniques were 'Brush Handling','Grid Application' and 'Color Blending'. Group #2 was supervised by Joye to 'kick-start' the second mural with fantastic ideas from our students Nicholas and Ayanna as the main features.

The mural project is coming along great! As you can see from the photos, our team is incredibly talented, which will guarantee beautiful end results. We're all so excited about the progress we're making!

Programs Update

Last weekend's classes got off to a great start! It was so great to see everybody after the break and to see the new faces as well! In the upcoming weeks we are going to be working on some great projects and having a lot of fun doing it! Keep in mind, that your continual presence in class is not only beneficial for you, but for everyone else in class too. The more we work together and the more we share our creativity, the more we learn! Everyone's input and ideas are equally important in the creation of our art pieces.

We look forward to seeing all of you every Saturday and hope to be seeing you often!

For those in DNAW-West, who's class was canceled due to water issues, classes will resume this week, January 16th. See you then!

CAP Classes Resume January 8th!

We are all so excited to get back to work this Saturday and hope you are all too! CAP just wanted to post a reminder that our first classes of the new year resume this weekend, January 8th. We are looking forward to seeing the familiar faces, and welcoming our new students! We would also like to extend an invitation to any of your friends or family members who you think might be ideal for our classes. Registration is open to those who are as committed and hard working as you all are, so if you know anyone who might be interested, bring them to class along with you!

We hope everyone had a safe and happy new year and we will see you this weekend!
