“Today, the majority of my work focused on the grass. Mrs. Holley, Mr. Nivek, and I worked together to make the grass look more realistic. It definitely helped me grow as a painter, as I learned new techniques from these master artists. I learned how to manipulate the paint with my brush according to where I was painting. I had to take a few aspects into consideration: like the reduction of detail that comes with distance and how to apply it. I also had to think about the light source and how things will be darker the farther they are from the sun.
I’ve known Mrs. Holley for a while. She has been my art teacher for years. So, we resonated pretty well as teacher and student on this painting.”
